Rivers State Police Command comfirms arrest two suspected serial killers

Rivers State Police command has confirmed the arrest of two suspected serial killers in Port Harcourt over the killing of about eight women in different parts of the city in the last two months.

Speaking with the newsmen in Port Harcourt during a media parley, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mustapha Dandaura dismiss the report that the victims are up to ten. He also said the investigations revealed that the killings were for ritual purposes.

He also told journalists that two suspects have been arrested in connected with the killings in different parts of the state, he said the suspects are undergoing interrogations in their custody  and are giving the Police useful information to allow it investigation.

CP. Mustapha Dandaura said; "So far so good, they are giving us useful information on what has happened."

"Why we have not brought them to this press briefing is that they are still undergoing interrogations, after we have gotten what we want, we are going to parade these suspects."

"Last week after the killing incident, we were able to track a suspect and that suspect was arrested in kaduna, very soon, we are going to transfer him to the State Command." He added.

Recall that there was an outcry over the killings of young woman in different hotels in Port Harcourt in recent times which led to Nigerians protest online with the hashtag, #ProtectPHgirls and #PHCSerialKiller.

Rivers State capital, Nigeria Hotel Association has also on Monday 16th September, 2019 issued a statement to all hotel owners, say, it is now compulsory to all the hotel to install CCTV in their various buildings amongst other directives.

Meanwhile, protest by different women groups in Rivers State is ongoing at the time of filling this report.
